She lives in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, with her dad, mom, and sister Claire. Their lively home is filled with seven beloved cats, eight chickens, and a rotating cast of critters, including butterflies, frogs, tortoises, salamanders, worm snakes, and crawdads that she and Claire love to catch.

The inspiration for Cora’s book title came from the cherished stories their Poppy Sanders shared with her and Claire as they grew up.
